Parents Who Cause Their Children to Sin - Matthew 18:5-7

Matthew 18:5-7 NKJV
[5] "Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me. [6] Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. [7] Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!"

When I read this, I think about parents who encourage their children to be transgender or homosexual. Transgenderism is sin because it is desiring to be someone or something other than who or what God made you to be. It is exalting yourself above God by changing what He has created.

Homosexuality is sin because God made sex and marriage to be exclusively between a man and a woman. God designed sex to be between a married man and woman. Regardless of homosexuality or heterosexuality, whoever has sex outside of these boundaries, sins.

People do not want to be restricted in their lifestyle, or told what they can and can't do, and therefore many who know that it goes against God’s design and refuse to heed His instructions, are saying that their ways are better than God's ways. This is the mentality of many transgender and homosexual people. It is rebellion against God, which is what sin is.

It also makes me think of parents who place no restrictions on their children's activities, but encourage them to participate in sinful activities. Some parents want to be "the cool parents", so they buy their kids alcohol, invite them to their parties, and allow them to have parties in their home. Lots of sinful things can happen when people get drunk, and the kids may end up paying a terrible price because their parents wanted to be cool.

It would be better for the parents who encourage their children to do these things to have a millstone hung around their necks and to be drown in the sea, than what they have coming to them for causing their children to sin.
