Statements like this totally disregard the baby's basic human right to life. The next time you hear Kamala Harris talk about her support for abortion, or one of NBC's sob stories of a woman who got pregnant but was unable to get an abortion because law prevented her to do so, make note of the fact that the life of the baby is never mentioned. Their position is solely based upon the rights of the women, and never the rights of the child.
"Donald Trump said some states that are restricting abortion rights are being “too tough” and those measures should be rolled back, as he sought to win over women skeptical about his approach to reproductive health care.
“It’s going to be redone. They’re going to, you’re going to, you end up with a vote of the people,” Trump said at a Fox News-hosted town hall in Cumming, Georgia on Tuesday. “They’re too tough, too tough. And those are going to be redone because already there’s a movement in those states.” (time.com - Donald Trump Says States Will Undo Abortion Laws That Are ‘Too Tough’, 10/15/2024)
President Trump's position on abortion is that the issue is to divisive for the country to decide, and therefore he is going to leave it up to the states. That sounds great except ten states already have amendments to expand their present abortion laws on the November ballot. It won't take long before states that are governed by pro-choice components implement radical abortion laws, all based on the rights of the women, not the baby.
Both President Trump and his Vice President nominee, JD Vance, said that they will not support a nation wide abortion ban. In fact Donald Trump believes that the current abortion laws are too strict and need to be redone.
Melania Trump announced in her new book that she believes women have the right to abortion. If Trump is elected, she will be the First Lady of the United States.
Regarding the moral issue of abortion, President Trump's view is no better than Kamala Harris's. If Trump gets the evangelical vote regardless of his position on abortion, this will send a message that life is really not that important to Christians because they are going to vote anyway, and in 2028, it won't even be an issue of consideration.
However, if evangelicals do not give their support to pro-abortion politicians, they will send a message that life is the most important issue to them on the ballot.
Regardless of who is elected, countless numbers of innocent baby's lives are at stake. I urge Christians to contact President Trump's office to ask him to change his position because life is the most important issue to them. I also urge Christians not to support President Trump by voting for him if he does not change his position, because it will send the message that life is really not an important issue to them. This message will have a ripple effect that will effect our future elections.
