"Once again, I realized how many children [like Archana] have no hope for the future. If we hadn't helped Archana and her brothers at Bridge of Hope, in a few years they most likely would have ended up on the streets just like any other poverty-stricken boys and girls their age, trying to make a living like the beggar children in the movie Slumdog Millionaire.
"I saw afresh what a significant assignment the Lord gave us when He gave us Bridge of Hope. We do provide these children with a good education, nutritious meals and medical care- but even more than all that, we give these boys and girls the greatest opportunity to experience the love of God for themselves. And as these children grow in the knowledge of the Lord, just imagine how He will use their lives to build and bless their nations in the days to come!
"Now, as I look at [Archana's] picture, I feel so blessed. And then I pray, "Oh God, please help us to rescue at least 500,000 children like her who are in desperate need." But what is 500,000 when I remember there are at least 50 million child laborers in India alone and millions more in the surrounding nations? We can, and I believe we must, do everything possible to bring hope to these precious children before it is too late."
