4 Ways to Overcome Temptation

Psalms 119:2-3 NIV

[2] Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart— [3] they do no wrong but follow his ways.

Colossians 3:1-2 NIV

[1] Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. [2] Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 

Matthew 6:33 NIV

[33] But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Proverbs 1:7 NIV

[7] The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Four ways to overcome the temptation of sin:

1.  Seek God with all your heart (Psalm

     119:2-3);

2.  Set your hearts and minds on things

     above, not on earthly things

     (Colossians 3:1-2);

3.  Seek first God's kingdom and

      righteousness (Matthew 6:33);

4.  Fear the Lord (Proverbs 1:7).
