Words cannot express the joy and excitement I felt and am still feeling about this past Sunday! We had the awesome privilege of being joined at Bay Pointe Community Church by Big Life Ministries' John Heerema, Jeff Gibson, Forest Head and Pastor Benjamin. Pastor Benjamin and Pastor Nick shared a very powerful and life changing message, The Story of Usbased on Luke 15:11-32.

At the end of the service, there was an invitation for new believers to come home to the Father by walking through a door. I was so proud and blessed that day because my daughter Renae walked through that door. I did not expect it, but she made the decision to follow Jesus that day, and walking through the door was her public profession of faith.
As for the rest of the day, all I can say is what a blessing it was having the prayer team pray over Renae, talking to the guys from Big Life (what an amazing encouragement!), then going to small group and having communion with them, which we've never done in small group before. Renae helped pass out communion and told me that she wants to pray for people in The Prayer Room . All I can say is, Thank you Jesus so much for this awesome blessing! It makes me tear up just thinking about it. Nothing is more important to me than my family coming to faith in Jesus Christ. This was certainly one of the best days of my life!

Here are my notes from the powerful and inspirational message entitled The Story of Us:
  • After demanding from his father his share of the inheritence, "[The son] moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living." (vs.12-13)
  • The son was lost; he knew he was lost. He knew what to do; he did not do it.
  • "When he came to himself" (vs.17) -the turning point in the son's life
  • "When he was far off, the father saw him." (vs.20)
  •  The son was walking, probably afraid of his father's reactions. But the father, filled with love and compassion, was running to the son.
  • "I came to seek and to save those who are lost."~Jesus (Luke 19:10)
  • "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love."~Romans 8:38
If you relate to the lost son or if you feel like God will never forgive you or love you because of the things you've done, then I encourage you to think about the truths of God's love for you and know that Jesus loves you. Nothing is more important than putting your faith in Jesus Christ.
