Beaten- down

I spent this evening with a group of about 20 homeless people who came to our church for a warm meal and refuge from the rain and cold weather. I was able to visit and share a meal with them. It breaks my heart to see good intentioned people beaten down from life. To hear their stories are heart breaking. Some won't share, but I think many just want someone to listen. They want to be seen and they want people to know that they exist. They want to be loved and accepted. In our culture, we often overlook or even ignore the poor. Many of us, many of us Christians, often fail to reach out in love to each other, let alone people in need or lost people. People are hurting and are in desperate need of love. The lost and hurting people of the world are who Jesus came for. If we call ourselves Christians, then we need to do the same. What can you do today to show Jesus to the world?
