Pray for the World: Persecuted Christians in Pakistan

Please join our church in praying for Christians who are persecuted for their faith within the nation of Pakistan, from now until July 23rd.

Pakistan is a predominantly Muslim nation located in the Middle East.
Approximately 98.9% of the population are Muslim with only 0.7% being Christian. The Voice of the Martyrs characterizes Pakistan as a Restricted nation meaning that government sanctioned circumstances or anti-Christian laws lead to Christians being harassed, imprisoned, killed or deprived of possessions or liberties because of their witness. Restricted also include countries where government policy or practice prevents Christians from obtaining Bibles or other Christian literature.
Pakistan is listed as number four on Open Doors USA 2017 World Watch List due to its severe persecution of Christians.

• Pray for wisdom and continued boldness over a Pakistani brother as he leads the work throughout this Muslim stronghold. He is on the radar of many Muslims who desire to stop what he is doing. They know that he exists, they just don't know exactly who he is or where he is located. To paraphrase this brother, it is likely just matter of time before they catch him, but he is fine with the outcome because he knows where he is going and that plenty of other leaders are being discipled and ready to fill his role (Matt. 10:28).

• Pray for the growing network of underground churches (1,200+) to spread into more unreached areas. Pray for the Holy Spirit to both guide them to new areas and prepare the hearts of the people in these area who are bound to Islam (Acts 8:4-8).

• Pray for an exciting new opportunity and strategy to supply the great and growing need for Muslim Outreach Bibles. Pray for the logistical successes that will be required for this opportunity to be realized. Ask the Lord to blind the eyes of anyone who might notice what is happening and try to prevent it (1 Thessalonians 2:13).

• Pray for all the new believers who are being discipled to have great wisdom as they begin to share their story (salvation testimony) and God's story (the Gospel) with their family. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide them each step of the way so that they know which family member to approach first and when the timing is right. [Note: They are taught to reach their family first, yet it can be very dangerous if they do not proceed through the leading of the Holy Spirit] (Acts 26:1-23).

• The harvest is ready in Pakistan. There is a flood of people wanting to know more about Jesus. Pray for more laborers, especially young people and pray that the Pakistani people will be reached with the love of God (Matthew 9:37-38).
