God Is Moving: Amazing Grace

Tharoath-Cambodia
"My name is Tharoath. I grew up in a Buddhist family and lived according to Buddha’s teachings. I always tried to do good deeds because I felt that would take me to heaven (nirvana). My mother and sister became Christians and they shared with me about Jesus. It made me angry as I felt they were betraying Buddha and the Khmer religion. Then one day I became very sick and realized Buddha nor anyhuman could help me. After that, my life began to change as I realized I can’t depend on doing good to get to heaven. I started to attend a local church with my mother and sister and became a follower of Jesus. About three months later I felt called to study theology at a Bible school. A couple of years ago I met Brother Benjamin and learned what the Lord is doing through Big Life. As Benjamin shared the goals and strategy of Big Life I quickly realized that they aligned with the personal calling the Lord has given me for my people in Cambodia. Now, the Lord is using me to have an even greater Kingdom impact and I am so grateful. I praise the Lord for this opportunity."

Pray for the Big Life church planters in Cambodia as they take the training they received from Pastor Benjamin two weeks ago and apply it to their ministries. These men and women set a goal of establishing 100 churches by the end of 2011. We should receive the official chart documenting the specifics of each church in the next few days, but we are told they came very close to meeting their goal. Considering Big Life did not begin working in Cambodia until last spring this is a huge praise that the Lord has expanded His Kingdom so rapidly. Pray for the Lord's continued anointing over this work to make His glory known to the people of Cambodia.

Taposhi Mondal- South 24 Parganas, India
"I was born and brought up in a Hindu family in a village called Kochpukur in the South 24 Parganas. I got married at a very young age and I have 2 kids. My husband didn’t have a job so I had to find a job to support my family. My family situation was so bad that I got involved in prostitution and my husband too encouraged me with it, but deep down I always felt dirty of myself.

"One day a brother came to me and spoke about Jesus and shared with me about the prostitute woman in the Bible who Jesus saved and how he loves me and cares for me. I had been praying and worshiping to the family idols from my childhood but I never heard that any one of these god’s would die for me. When I learned that Jesus died for my sins I repented and gave my life to the Lord and from then on God has taken care of my family. God provided me with another job and I have made a commitment that no matter what happens to me I will not go back into prostitution.

"I thank God for giving me this new life and I am sharing Jesus with other ladies that they would also turn to Him and give up worshipping those deaf and dumb idols. I praise God also that my husband has become a believer. Please pray for his spiritual growth."

Although the persecution has increased, the number of people coming to faith in Christ is also rapidly increasing. In the last two weeks, the Lord has used Brother Hafiz and his team members to share the Gospel with 71 people who have placed their faith in Christ and have been baptized. This week, Brother Hafiz & Brother Munshi are traveling to two new areas to make the Gospel known deeper into enemy territory. Pray for these men to have wisdom and boldness as they storm the gates of hell armed with the Word of God.

Please also pray for Hafiz, Munshi and Mullana as they meet this week for accountability, to discuss what the Lord is doing in their ministries and to plan how they can best be used by the Lord to reach the Muslim majority in their country. Pray for the Holy Spirit to provide wisdom to these men and also protection as they share the Gospel in many areas very hostile to Christianity.
